I have done a bit of reading on the Nauticus Smart Tabs SX and have come to a conclusion that they would be a good thing for me as I have a leaning problem while underway. But before shelling out the cashola I consult iBoats!!

The boat is a 16' Cconsole with a 60hp Merc 2-stroke, 32mph (gps) wot.

I am concerned about the durability of them since I have read a few posts where hey have broke.

So basically I am looking for your opinions & experiences with them in regards to my leaning problem and durability.

Thanks!

Re: Smart tabs and my application

I have mine on a 16' ski boat with 110hp stern drive (I/O).

I posted about them breaking, sort of. However, I likely broke them when I was backing it into the garage. And, they still worked fine after that, I haven't repaired or replaced them.

The performance improvements are everything they claim. I wouldn't give them up for anything.

Get the Smart Tabs you won't regret it. If by some chance one breaks they do stand behind the product. They will do everything advertised and then some. There were some problems with the early SX tabs but there have been some modifications to fix those problems. Anytime you put a new product on the market, no matter how much you have tested it, the real world use will bring out a defect or weak spot if there is one. Nauticus is a stand up company and great to work with.

I agree with what nlain said. I tried a whale tail and it really made the hanling of my boat very unstable. With the Smart Tabs, it is a dream.

What I really like though is when I was having an install dilema, I called the company and John, the owner, answered the phone and helped me out right then. There was no, "Wait for a tech", "Press 1 for English", "Oh, well, you also need to buy this for an additional $$$". He identified the problem just through my over-the-phone description and said he would mail the necessary parts. I received them in a few days and was on my way!

EJ3 - leaning problem while underway??? Do you have a hydrofoil on it now??? They can cause leaning because the lift from the center.
