Smart tabs and washout

Guess I never really paid attention to my wake before I put the tabs on, but have been trying to get rid of a ton of washout on my wake at wakeboarding speed (20mph). Moved the actuator all the way in to reduce lift, and moved the actuator up on the transom bracket to reduce the angle, but still very washy wake. John is sending me some 60# shocks instead of the 80's that came with it. But just for giggles, I took the tabs off completely tonight and the wake was amazing. Very smooth and rampy with absolutely no washout. Hopefully the lighter actuators will solve the problem cuz I love the holeshot and no bow rise with the tabs, but cant live with the effect they have on the wake while I am wakeboarding. Any thoughts?

put on some Bennet hydrolic tabs,then you have full controle ,you arent relying on an automatic system

John also has a special bracket that you can, lift the tab. on something like that.

Thats a likely route if I cant get the problem resolved with lighter actuators and less angle. Also looking at adding fat sacs front and rear to weight the boat down some more. Problem with the release tabs is I believe I will have to drill new holes to mount them to the transom. Is that correct? What do i do with the holes from the previous brackets?

What if I could adjust them to where they had no angle at all and were flush with the hull? Wouldn't they still help with holeshot, but then be a non factor when on plane?

The fix has already been posted. Do cockpit adjustable tabs and there will be zero trimming issues...for any reason. Or you will continue to adjust the "automatics" everytime out for one particular situation at a time.

Just order a set of the lever type adjusters from Nauticus. You flip it up to de-activate the tabs.

This is the likely route I will take. Concerned about having to drill new holes for these transom brackets. What do I do with the holes from the other brackets?

Marine-Tex is what I would use. However, you could just use 4200 sealant.

I can just fill the hole with the sealant or do I need to put a screw or anything? These holes are below the waterline. I should add that when I installed the brackets, I put a dab of 5200 in the hole before putting in the screw. Is that going to present a problem when I remove the screw?

Marine-Tex is an epoxy and you wouldn't put a screw in with it. With the sealant it depends if the new bracket covers the old holes or not (I have no idea). If not, I would put screws in, if it does, then obviously you can't.
