I had a very help full converstion with John at Nauticus today.
I am posting a picture of stern of my boat.It appears to me that I have only one place I can mount them,close to drive.
Wanted to put them as far to sides as could but it appears the swim platform will not allow.
John if you look at this what do you think?

I'm sure John will respond but i think you can still mount them toward the outside as long as you keep the correct angle of the tabs(i think it was 25 degrees) been awhile since i installed mine.Or mount the top of the actuators just inside the corner of where the platform is recessed for the drive..John will surely help you place them in the best position.

A little different hull design but I have a set on a 185 Sport Sea Ray. You might ask if they can make a shorter set of cylinders for you, I almost had to go that route with mine. Gary is correct that if you can mount with the 25 degree starting angle. Here is some photos of mine.

Ok guys this is where I am thinking to put them. There isn't enough distance for the actuator om the outer edge.

If you are stuck that far in (I think you are) I'd go with the next lighter rated cylinder than recommended . . . I am sure John will chime in, but my experience with a similar situation points to less "actuation" pressure. BTW, this is the hardest part of the installation 8)

pra100;

The only thing you will give up is some of the side to side control.

If you move the actuator toward the rear of the plate by indexing the bracket back the required distance from the bottom of the boat to the top (transom) bracket mounting location will be reduced to 7.5" from 10.5".

What you do it align the front hole in the foot of the bracket with the rear hole in the plate and drill one more hole. You may then be able to spread the plate further outboard . However it appears that you will not be able to move them out very much.

The location should work OK. You will get all of the benfits you are looking for with not quite the side to side stability improvement you could have.

Not to worry, you will be happy.

Ok I finally got the smart tabs installed.Haven't tried them out yet as my boat is still winterized.

Hope I don't have problems with them being to stiff set in this far.

Looks good! They make take a few adjustments to get them just right.
Your transducer for your fishfinder is close.that may give you crazy readings at higher speeds..
Let us know how they work..
