first off, i'd like to thank nautijohn for his help and advice!
the smart tabs did exactly what nautijohn said they would, i experienced zero! low speed wander, i could let go of the steering wheel at fast idle and it went dead straight. when i accelerated i had "little to no bow rise", it got on plane noticably faster than it did with the hydrofoil. i was surprised at how the bow did not come up much before it planed! it was very smooth. there was not much chop so i cant say how much better it handles chop. i noticed there was less wake, and gained 1-2 mph. the tabs seemed to make the steering a little lighter at high speed, and more responsive but it didnt seem to turn any sharper. as i explained to john before hand, the boat handled turns veeery well to begin with. overall i am one happy dude! the tabs are well worth the money.

thanks john!

Catfish;
Thank you! The top speed gain could be better - reduce the pressure buy adjusting the actuator position on the plate bracket. Move the ball stud down about 1/2" toward the plate. you should pick up another 2MPH. I would also check the WOT RPMs as it should be up about 150. What do you think your minimum on plane speed is now? 16 MPH?
What about time to plane?
John

The time to plane and the low end performance should not change to any noticable degree if at all. Accelleration to 25 or 30 mph may improve along with top end.

What kind of boat are we talking about? 15mph planing speed is very low.

14ft bayliner capri w/50hp evinrude. the tabs made a big difference, and i think they'd make the same difference on just about any boat.
