OK - so I installed the SX 60 tabs on my Sea Ray 182 with 4.3 L. Primary purpose was to eliminate porpoising.

Once I got over the thought of drilling holes - I went ahead and installed with 3M 4200 sealer. In the middle of installation, I did have to call Nauticus to get a new end fitting where the shock attaches to the tab, because of the angle of my swim deck (not on vertical plane). Nauticus mailed on right out. It is one that replaces the "U" shaped fitting with on that just mounts on one side, so it doesnt bind at the top of the "U" due to the angle.

Anyways - I ran last night at setting 3 and could certainly see an improvement, if not elimination of the porposing. Previously, when encountering chop, I had to have trimmed all the way down - last night, I was able to trim up to between quarter and half, with no porpoising. I did not go WOT because my wife and daughter were with me - and if you have a wife and daughter - you know what I'm talking about.

I may try on different settings just to see difference - I wish they had a quick change ability so I could easily change settings while on the water -

Bottom line - successful first outing and I believe they do what they promise. Now as long as my holes are sealed and my hull doesnt fill with water - we're good

Those SmartTabs do wonders, don't they? The part about drilling holes in the transom is pretty scary, though.

Hi there,

I know this is nearly a year old, but was interested to see there may be an adaptor to make the SX a viable option for non-vertical plane installs??

I wonder this as I live in Australia, and can only source the SX version for my Sea Ray 180.

If you could let me know if this is possible, I've tried emailing Nauticus but to no avail.

Thanks,

Mischa
