I ordered some smart tabs from iboats on Sunday and they were sitting on my porch when I got home this evening. Can't wait to put them on and get on the lake this weekend. I've read some great reviews on the smart tabs so I'm eager to give them a try. I was really impressed with not only the price I received from iboat.com but how fast they were shipped to me.

I mainly bought the smart tabs to see if it would add a little extra stability in heavy chop. My boat is a 2006 18 foot Larson with a 4.3 Volvo and can get a little squirrely at high speed in heavy chop. Plus I figured it might come in handy this summer when pulling the little ones around on the tube to help keep the bow down at lower speeds.

Had a little package from iboats waiting on the porch for me this evening, too. Fast!

Re: Smart tabs

Nothing better than an iboats package on the porch...

My Larson is about the same size and it was also squirrelly at the top end, chine-walking and just a bit skittish. SmartTabs made all the difference in the world. Very solid feeling at WOT now.

The tabs will significantly improve stability and handling, however as the "crunchy" old man on the block with safety in mind, I suggest that you do not run WOT in a chop. The stresses on the boat in all areas are more than you think. That said - Have fun this summer!

Re: Smart tabs

Thanks for the replies guys. You're comments are very encouraging for getting the tabs mounted. I was traveling for work and got home sorta late this evening and was hoping to get them on but when I arrived back home it was pouring down here so I will have to wait. Maybe tomorrow morning if the weatherman is actually right for once. Heck, knowing me, I will sit in the parking lot at the lake tomorrow morning and install them. I mean I only have about every tool known to man in the bed of my truck and at least I will have a great view while I work! :)
