I have been trying to find an answer to my question with no success. I decided to start a dedicated thread for it.
I have the smartcraft tach and speed for my boat. I have it set up correct and what should work is working. I was told that in order for me to have the fuel level show and oil level, I would need to have another harness. Well I found out and got harness 84-859743T 2. It doesn't have a wiring diagram so I have no idea where the loose wires connect to.
I have a 2004 Optimax 200. Here are some pictures to illustrate what I see.

I figure I would find connections to match this on the outboard.

I would appreciate any help please.

Did you figure it out? I have a call in to Mercury about the same thing and am waiting for them to email me the info.

balistikb;

Do you have a Mercury service Manual as the online ones have Smartcraft wiring in them.

Let us know your s/n and model number if you have it.

Re: SmartCraft Gauges wiring help PLEASE

Top photo: Four wire flat plug is for paddle wheel speedo-you're not using this. The other plug needs to plud into a drop harness from your engine harness-you will need this. 2nd photo: These wires will go to your remote, or boat mounted oil tank. If you current oil tank is not equiped, you will need to replace the pickup body on the tank with one that has a float, and pins to accept the two plugs. 3rd photo: Wires for fuel tank. You will connect the one with the pink tracer to the center pin on your fuel tank sender. Do nothing with the other wire, it is for a second tank. I don't have my Smartcraft guide in front of me, so I can't give you the part#, but you will need the drop harness to use this new boat harness. Some of the Smartcraft stuff can be very confusing. I would contact your local dealer for some help with the numbers. Good luck!!
