Hi i have a problem on my Mercury optimax 200 Year 2006..
Im having a problem with the trim gauge (smartcraft gauge) its seems to be loosing its calibration.. The engine trims normal but the gauge does not mark well.. Any ideas??? i have calibrated the gauge but seems, its loosing its calibration after a while..!! Could this be the trim sensor going wrong..?
Thanking you in advance for any help!!

Mine has only been installed for a few hours, but it went out 0.1 so far....

I am also having a similar problem. 2006 Optimax 225. When I calibrate the trim heights, ie 0.0 10.0 25.0 is seems ok. But, when I actually use the trim, my range displayed is from 25.0 trailer to 19.3 full down.

Re: Smartcraft trim gauge not working well

I just installed a smartcraft sc1000 on a new 2009 Opti 115HP. All the gauge functions seem to work but the trim function does not read at all on the guage.....I tried calibrating but it stays at 0.0 on the guage...do I have to purchase another accessory to make the trim readings work??

I have 2005 225hp Optimaxs and would really like to know the answer to this question as well. I have gone through the calibrations as well and still have 0.0. Is the trim function carried on the paddlewheel, oil, fuel harness or something?
