I am out of ideas - would appreciate any help from the community
I currently own a 2006 Fountain CC with twin 2005 275xl VER Mercury Verados -
1B193044 and 1B206562
I did not use my boat at all last year due to a family illness, when I stored it for the Michigan winter everything worked perfectly. This year my batteries were dead so I purchased 2 new 1000CCA batteries, Cleaned all connections and installed them. Turned the key to on position and and the 2 tachs and speedo had a message of "Lost Engine Com" all other gauges (Oil pressure, water PSI, Trim did not work and either did the engine trim at controls. All other accessories worked perfectly. Horn, lights, stereo etc...

following is a list of everything that I did
Started the boat for the first time
Noticed the smart ALL gauges were not working correctly (2 tachs and Speedo had messages)
Engine Trim switches not working either at throttles (Trim switches work at the engines)
The tach showed BAT TMP PSI with explanation points under them
Then switched to flashing bells with explanation points under them (Have pictures)
Let sit for a minute then I got “Lost Engine Com” on all 3 gauges
I looked on the internet for a solution, including this group and did the following
#1) I disconnected and checked every connection (SmartCraft related from engine to Junction blocks to the gauges)
#2) While disconnecting I found a lot of condensation on the junction blocks so replaced the 2 junction blocks
#3) Disconnected the batteries and removed to check for a missed connection.
#4) cleaned all battery connections and reinstalled batteries.
#5) Checked all fuses I know about (at engine and in helm)
Still getting same message on gauges.
#6) Did a master reset of gauges by holding (+/- of gauges for 10 seconds)
Now when I turn the key to the on position (not starting)
I no longer get the 3 flashing bells with explanation points
The gauges start the auto detect phase but don’t do anything. It says to hit the mode button to start
#7) Hit mode button – after autodetect phase runs – I get a warning message
Message “Warning No STRB Motor
#8) Check forums - Forums say that the STRB motor has to be assigned
#9) Bought a TechMate pro diagnostic tool ($600)– checked the PCM and no faults present and motor is assigned as the STRB motor. for the hell of it went thru process to re-assign. No change
(i did nothing with tech tool on Port Motor)
#10) Bought a vessel view mobile module and installed to STRB motor
Not installed yet because its raining and just received it - assuming it will work and will update later today
#11) Removed the vessel view from engine and installed at the Junction block for STRB motor
Not installed yet during weather
Thought about running the boat until the end of the season and repairing– if the vessel view mobile will give me engine readings (OIL and water PSI)
but this morning I remembered that the Trim does not function and the throttles SO THIS IS NOT A OPTION and need to get it fixed before i splash.

I cut zip ties in helm holding smartcraft wires together. Just to look at wires. Did not see anything.

Doing some reading on The Hull Truth and Meridian Yacht Owners and both came back with bad PCM. Both were caused by a lightening strikes nearby.

thanks for the reply... I would assume that with a faulty PCM they would not start and run...
