Re: SmartTabs, again

OK,OK. My next project will be SmartTabs. First I have to move the tie down bolts on the trailer - the tie down now covers where the tabs will be mounted. The, I'll have to move the transducer for my depthfinder - it will be in the way of the relocated tie down.
Nothing's easy about boat projects.
http://members.cox.net/wgander/family_boat.htm

Bill;

Let me give you a little help with regard to the tie downs. It is true that most boat manufacturers do not think that their boats need trim tabs so they do not line up the tie downs to clear them.

West Marine and other retail stores that sell trailer items will have an angle bracket with one leg having two 1/2" holes and the other leg having one 1" hole. use the two 1/2" holes to mount the bracket to the trailer in an area that will clear the tabs. Or if you are realy luck the current mounting bracket may be removable for relocation.

As for the sending unit it would be better if it were to the inside of the tabs (lower in the water). I promise it will be worth the effort -- Let us know when you are done.

Thanks

John
