have question re: what would cause large amount of smoke at startup? 1988 erude 120 looper, am pre/mixing @50:1, disconnected vro using pensoil 100% syn. after inital startup no smoke but after letting set 4 or 5 hrs or more smoke. before i changed over to syn. condition was considerably worse. thanks.

Silly question so forgive me but are you sure youre getting it 50:1? (I'm sure you are but its important)<br /><br />What spark plugs are you using?<br /><br />I use the Pennzoil blend and all I get from any of my motors is a slight puff on cold start and then virtually nothing after that.

plugs ql77jc4 one pint for six gals gas. prehaps its not a bad thing, at least i know its getting oil. thanks again.
