I ran my motor a few weeks ago and did a lot of trolling, low rpm usage, also had to run trimmed way up due to the winter waters being so shallow; at the end of the day I noticed the motor was excessively, and relentlessly smoking, blue/white smoke- and though it almost always shakes/rough idles, seemed moreso... we managed to get it on the dock and noticed oil leaking from the cap of the on-motor oil reservoir.
I let the boat sit for a week and ran it for ~3-4 minutes on muffs to see if it was a one time thing, but it started smoking again and so I killed it.
Is this a symptom of fouled plugs, it's probably time for new plugs anyways, so I was going to swap them out- as well as a seafoam treatment, but perhaps there's more... this is my first outboard, and I can't help but feel I'm missing something here--- there was a slight crimp in the fuel line after the bulb, but upon inspection both times there was ample fuel inside the filter bulb, making me think it wasn't starving for fuel.
(BTW, a couple of months ago I swapped out the vst and fuel filters, so I doubt it's related)
