Hey guys, recently I got a maxum 1900 sr 2003, all the places on the carpet that weren't snapped in shrunk by about a quarter of an inch. The carpet is really dry. Any way to expand it for it to snap in? Wouldn't wanna be boating and have the carpet slip in under someone.

its normal for carpet to shrink a bit when it dries.. you can simply grab the carpet and pull, I use my feet, one to kick the carpet and hold it moved over, the other to step on the snap.

Mines is a pretty big distance it shrunk, some areas more than 1/4 inch, would getting it wet expand it?
I tried pulling it myself but it wouldn't budge, maybe I'll try with 1 person standing on one side and another person pulls

Shouldn't slip anyways unless the back of the carpet has no grip. On mine I could leave it completely unsnapped and it would not slide due to the rubber gripper trails that are all over the backing.

I would get the carpet completely wet and then see if you can snap it in. If you can snap it, let in dry in place and you should be in good shape.

On a sidenote, how do i open the fuel tank door for filling up? the door has 2 holes and I can't find any switches/levels to open it.

Also previous owner said half the gas in the gas tank is from 2 years ago and half is from last year because he tops the gas(92 ocatne) off for winterization. Is it okay to run the gas this year? It ran fine during the test drive so thinking it should be fine? (the tank is 35 gallons)

Good luck with the snap in carpet and make sure you get all the snaps fastened. I had a few where the snap was damaged, the carpet eventually tore from flapping ever so slightly in the wind. I understand why half the people just leave the carpet out.
