Snow Day!!

Woke up at 0500 to another 20" of snow. Second blizzard in two weeks. Last one on Dec 26 was a Sunday. Today the kids checked the tv and their school was closed. Jumped for joy! I checked and my school was closed too! I jumped higher. Never loose that feeling when you find out school is closed for the day. Loading the kids and dog in the truck and headed for the hill. I'll shovel out the vessel later.

We have 23 inches here in 12 hours and they are saying up 32 inches here.

We have only about 6" here on the north shore of the St. Lawrence.

Ugh, we have been dealing with the aftermath of that storm in ATL. Kids have been out of school all week due to bad icing on the roads. North GA is not equipped to handle the 6" of snow followed by sleet and freezing rain that we had on Sunday/Monday. Roads are beginning to be somewhat passable today, but with temps getting back in the teens tonight, all the melt that has not run off or evaporated will just re-freeze.

Yup.... a SNOW DAY which allows me to spend the day with my wife. I just got done plowing my drive and we got an adequate amount here too.

Yeah, we got slammed as well. Got another inch over night. We're up to 3 inches now. Living in the Great White North is really hard. I have to go out and the SWEEP driveway again.

Man did I get off easy 8 inches of champaighn powder, great for the snowblower till you hit a frozen doggy doo and it vaporizes.
All I can say is DUCK THE BROWN SNOW CLOUD!!!!

I just talked to a friend of mine in Minnesota
He said that since early this morning, all his wife has done is look through the kitchen window and the snow is nearly waist high.


He said if it gets much worse, he may have to let her in....

Snowed 5" to 14" here in SC. Like Atlanta, we had the light freezing rain. Not many power outages. They only plowed the main highways. Secondary roads stayed iced over until today. Temps in the teens this morning which is making the Lakes have a coating of ice in large areas. 2nd snow of the year. I had fun in it. Just tried not to tick off the ole lady because I couldn't drive off anywhere
