Snowmobile engines for inboard power?

I'm wondering if anyone has used a snowmobile engine for powering some of the smaller home-built boats in the ~10' range. I'd imagine even the more sedate 440 cc fan cooled engines putting out 40 hp would provide a fun ride.

Paul,<br /><br />I have seen air cooled engines in boats.<br /><br />However, they CANNOT sit down in a bilge. They have to have full air flow around them.

Should work good for and airboat. Plenty of cooling.<br />Finding the right prop might be a trick.

Paul_H dont know about snowmobile But i have seen a few jon boats popping up around here with jet ski motors&drives (polaris) same motor just water cooled, darn thing was scary fast just an idea
