So far he has gotten the Butkus-Bronko Nagurski trophy-Lombardi award-Walter Camp player of the year-Bednarki for top defensive player and the big one, the Maxwell award for best college player, he is the first defensive player since 1980 to win the award.
As an interesting side note the last 33 players to win the Maxwell also got the Heisman and Klien and Manzell were both up for it too and this kid is a linebacker, amazing.
I personally think he gets it and if he doesn't he should, he goes so far beyond just being a good football player, he is an exceptional person on and off the field and really exemplifies everything you would want a player to be, I am so glad he plays for my team and not against us, he has been fun to watch and what a story, losing his girlfriend and Grandmother hours before a game and then having the game of his life.
I am really just trying to keep up, I am rabidly IRISH and though maybe at best we go 10-2 more likely 9-3 so to win them all is just so unexpected and I really honestly think we can beat Bama, remember, NO ONE gave them any chance at all against Oklahoma and they all but shut them down.
