Re: So frustrated/can't decide

We had no idea about the stainless steel vs. aluminum prop. The seller is giving us an extra and will show us how to install in the water should we have an emergency. We'll see if he has has an aluminum one that we can install now and give us the stainless steel.

I was incorrect, all the trailers we have looked at DO in fact have breaks. We intend to take a safety course to not only ensure our family's well-being but also to lower the insurance rate with Progressive. Thanks and we will be safe. Yesterday two personal watercraft riders collided at the resevoir we will frequent most and one died. That really bothers me.

The Bayliner seller is going to install an extra battery and switch for us for $200.00. We are thinking about having a trim/depth gauge added also. I did some research here and it appears we should go the transducer route and not put holes in the hull. Any idea if this is doable and estimate cost?

Thanks everyone!

The transducer is no biggie to install and a depth gauge is a must. Depending on how elaborate of a depth finder you want, it can be from $200+up for the gauge and transducer. Good to hear you're getting dual batts in the deal also. Sounds like you've run into the perfect seller, he sounds more than willing to make sure you enjoy your purchase! But seriously reconsider ever putting 10 people on that boat. That's just way too many bodies to look after at one time in very close quarters. Find a nice beach camp and take them out in smaller groups. Everyone will have a much better time!

Thanks for the info on the trim/depth indicator. We'll check with the seller if he's willing to do that when he does the extra battery.

We would never put 9-10 in this Bayliner. It does have a maximum capacity of 9 but that would be way crowded. In a previous post I said we may eventually need a larger boat that will fit 9-10 when our three girls are old enough to bring friends along.
