1700 Bayliner 1988 vintage 85HP Force same vintage. All I got was 32 mph. Thats by boat speedo. Only other thing is thats this is at 4500 FT elevation.<br /><br />4600 rpm, 15 pitch Hustler prop, Just me and the boat loaded with fuel.

2005 Bayliner 175 w/3.0 liter Mercrusier<br /><br />WOT = 42 MPH on the speedo (sorry no GPS to verify)<br /><br />We were out with the dealer once when it was really chopy, he had it up to 45 MPH but he was a real madman. I was holding on for dear life and he was laughing as he launched off of each wave.

35 knots = 40 mph on the GPS, in my 21' Ibiza daycruiser, with a 120 hp Mercruiser diesel at 4500 rpm, Alpha drive, Ballistic 21" propeller and the Smart Tabs, on flat water.<br /><br />That is probably nothing for some of you iboats-folks, but too fast for us!

52 mph on the GPS, sustained over distance. 29' ProSports 2860WA ProKat with twin 225 Yamaha four-strokes. Full fuel and load. On blue water with a bit of a chop. Trim it up and she gains more speed and the RPMs drop. Nothing like a planing cat! Love it!<br /><br />I'll add that I seldom run at that speed. Why suck up all that fuel when I can cruise at 32 mph burning 16 gallons an hour? That's plenty fast enough to get me to where the fish are.

40 mph (35 kts) at WOT in a 31.5 foot Bayliner 305. Twin 5.0 Bravo 2. Weight about 11,000 lb.

My 26' Tolly / 7.4 could reach 30 mph on a fresh bottom and half fuel. It had a nice cruise at 20 mph @ 3200 but I usually just putted around at 8 mph... because gas is such an expensive thing to need all the time.

1974 19.5' Silverline....original 302 engine...two guys in the boat with all our fishing gear....at WOT we were cruising at around 40MPH on the GPS...

Which boat? <br /><br />My smallest boat is likely my fastest. 9'6" Hedlund hydroplane with a 1980 Mercury 20hp runs about 62mph.<br /><br />10' runabout runs about 55mph with a 1954 Mercury 20hp.<br /><br />11'6" runabout runs about 61 with a 1984 Yamato 30hp.<br /><br />Had another hydro, about 12-foot, that would run over 70 with a 40hp Merc, but that one kinda came apart one day. Made for a lot of mahogany toothpicks... That boat was scary fast...<br /><br />For "family" boat, my 15-foot Starcraft American runs in the low 40s with a 75hp Johnson Stinger. <br /><br />- Scott

Wow you guys are getting pretty good speed from your 115s. I have a 20' Proline and a 19' Wellcraft both with 115hp and I can't get more than about 33mph out of either of them.

115 is small for a 20 foot boat. you should have more of a 150 v6. i have a 225 v6 on my 20 center console and i see 52 all day long.

about 47-50 mph in my fourwinns 245, 8.1L,at around 4500 rpm, don't usually push that hard u-know, wife kids and all.

84 MPH, but...it's my friends boat, 38' Fountain, Twin 250's. Funny thing, with the mods to his F350 Diesal Ford, he can pull it almost as fast with his truck too. Hehe

Because it's against the grain to run 100+ HP over the rated limit... How fast will your 60 with the 6" Pitch prop push your boat???? I know if you went to 8" pitch, you'd never get above 5K.
