...For the first time in about fifteen years. Oh my. As I kept coming out the door with armload after armload, the lady said I reminded her of the clowns getting out of the Volkswagen at the circus.

Here I've been buying things for years that I already had, hidden away out of sight in that shed. Insecticide, lawn fertilizer, hand tools, shingles, four bricks, various shapes and sizes of wood, and on and on...

I'm convinced that the total volume of the materials I removed today exceeds that actual volume of the shed...! If I had to put it all back, I'd be out of room about two-thirds of the way in...!!

Hope the garbage guy this week has a good back!

You didn't thro it out did you??
I mean, you know what going to happen now? Something will go wrong and you won't be able to fix it as you threw the required brick or shingle out.
There is a golden rule in this house. No one touches my shed - exccept for the 18 y/o - he finally thinks along the same lines as me.
Everything in my shed may have a use one day.

Cheers
Phillip

(PS - I know a guy that wrote a book on 'sheds'. Well, wrote my not describe it accurately. Hundered of big black and white pictures with minimal descriptions. Big seller too.)

+1!

Spread the fertilizer and insecticide on the lawn and garden!

If nothing else, build a fire with the wood!

Use the bricks to get a Camel to drink when he doesn't want to!;)

You will be looking for something that was there an hour after the garbage guy has been

Without a doubt. It is one of those few things that are as certain as death and taxes!

That's why I haven't cleaned the garage. I told the wife, as soon as I start throwing things out, I'll guarantee I'll need something within the first couple days....

Moving is the best way of getting rid of things out of the shed. We moved last year and I took two truck loads of “good’ stuff to the dump. Shingles, electrical wire, wood, electric motors, hand tools, scrap metal, a bucket full of nuts, you name it. Some of the stuff was still in the boxes that I put it in when I moved there 22 years ago.

Re: So I cleaned out the shed today...

I just spent Thursday cleaning out the sheds, porch, sleep camp, garage and wherever else I had stuff stashed. (even the sauna was being used as a storage shed:facepalm:)
I grabbed both my picnic tables and whatever else I could makeshift a table with... Set everything out in the driveway and got the kids to make up yard sale signs.
I didn't set prices, just make me an offer, $5, $2, whatever... Almost all the junk sold! most of it stuff that I was considering throwing out.
By Saturday afternoon I had collected something like $1,500.

So now you have an empty and useless shed??? :D

Well it is pretty empty and useless now. The person who bought the house still does not own a lawn mower and probably would not know how to start if they he got one. He hired the next-door neighbor to come over and mow the lawn for his Mother’s Day present to his wife.
