Symptoms.....

Stalling at idle or idle in gear.
Would not go past 2400rpm at WFO.
Bogging and rough running.

Here's what I did myself...

Cleaned the carbs, cleaned the plugs, checked spark, checked for fuel, rebuilt the fuel pump, compression check, (135 #1 145 #2-4)

Still baffled I decided to do what every do it yourselfer's worse nightmare is. Call for service!!! A mobile boat repair guy came over and did the same EXACT things I already did. However he found something that I didnt. A broken reed valve.

Hopefully this is the root of all my issues, he ordered another one and said cost will be around 100$ for the part alone. Yea I'm taking a hit for this little opps.

Thanks for sharing. And its great you finally got a handle on the problem. Hey, even though it cost a few bucks, you still have lots of nice weather left to go boating!

not only that..you learned how to save yourself ALOT of money by fixing it yourself...congrats!
