Re: So Long

U Crazy Mang!!
I don't get offended by anything. I spent 20 years of my life giving everything to my Country and my Corps (now) I have a great boat and a great family life. Don't quit!!!
The thing that makes us all unique is the fact that we can have our own opinion and we can express it!

So Mote it be!

Re: So Long

djohns19 stick around ! I don't recall reading where anyone was upset by any comments you have made here. This board is the success it is because of the input given by people who have had either a personal experience of a particular problem or experience over years of working with outboards. Collectively we all provide our own opinions which, as you can read here, solve many problems that our fellow boaters come up against (all over the world !) Dont abandon ship - the rest of the crew still need you !

Cheers
Mike :)

Hey, DJohns! Hang around, mate!

Sometimes we get our feelings hurt purely by accident, sometimes we get offended when nobody intended anything at all.

If I said anything that hurt I promise that it was unintentional and I take it back. If anyone else had a problem with your posts, well, that's HIS problem.

Red sky at night. . .
JB :)

What??
Where is the too long answer limit? Say's who? Don't quit because of one or two guys who didn't like your replies. There is far more people who enjoy reading them and need you around here.
You can't win them all. Too bad for them.

Let's all sign for one more year.

Happy New Year to everyone!

/Bear

Re: So Long

I don't know what led u to this,DJohns, but take it from a guy who has had it happen to him too....It happens. Let the guy who dissed you have his opinion, and you stick by yours,or learn by his. This site teaches and instructs thru it's membership. All of us.
So to the fact tha someone here doesn't like you, don't let him make you an enemy.
As for the VHF rules and regs, YOU WERE CORRECT, and I'm still searching the web,so I can qoute the regs verbatum. SSB and VHF are totaly different bands, modes, and operation regulations...More on this in the 11O'clock report.

OK. I've done some surfin, and found a link to FCC rules and regs...Turns out you were BOTH right (the old apples and oranges equation that we bang our heads up against here at times)... Yes, you can have a fixed station, but only under a licsense, and only commercial (like boatsU.S. and Marinas and such).
Here is the link that explains the whole thing, albeit,in "lawyerese". http://www.fcc.gov/fccsitemap.html

The VHF radios we use commonly are not even capable of "split pairs" or repeater operation, are limitted to 25WATTS PeP, and use FM (frequency mudulation). SSB,single sideband is used, but that's another radio, license, ect. So to say, "You can not use a VHF from your house to a boat" is true, unless you have a license and operate a marina or somethng. It is not enough to simply be liscensd for this. There has to be a legal use,as outlined in the above link.

Re: So Long

Whoa djohns19; I must have missed something, Although you've only been with the BB a short time. I for one have enjoyed your posts. We all have our different points of view, and rightly so. If we all thought alike and had the same knowledge and experience there would be no need for this forum. Everyones output is needed to make this the great BB that it is.

Stick around were all in the same BOAT! happy boating.

P.S. Since you were answering a question of mine I feel responsible, Sorry!

Give a man a fish and feed him for a day.
Teach the same man to fish and he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

Take Care, Hal

 WHOA!! DJOHNS, Dont bail-Dont go Suzuki on me. Your input and advice is valuable to new members such as myself. I belong to several forums, but this one seems to have a larger percentage of down to earth, experienced people. If you bail there will be one less.

Hey djohns19!!!
Don't let someone else be the reason for leaving us. You have just as much value here as anyone. I've enjoyed your postings and haven't seen any malicious intentions at any time. We all get a little ruffled now and then. Hang in here bud.......

schem

LOL,Steelie...Dont you mean "Don't go Force on me"? I heard some bad things about the new 4cycle design Zukis. I hope they get them squared-away,as I am an old Zuki fan when it comes to bikes.
