Re: so sad

well we asked for the hull id #, it will be on the outside of the transom, from back upper right hand side. if built before 1972 there will not be one. GA, registration, should also have it on it. if not go to the registration office, with the bow number. there were so many of that style boat made in that era, and a lot of mom & pop shops building boats, there is no definative way to tell buy the pictures you posted. most of the builders of that time, are long gone, and no records. the fiberglassics, web site doesn't even have anything on Viking.

Re: so sad

TD is right. The Fiberglassics site even has a whole section devoted to unidentified hulls - and that's where the experts hang out!! Simple fact is that there isn't necessarily an answer for every question. And if there is, it doesn't always work out that the person with the knowledge happens to stop by, see the post and respond during the short period it is within the recent listings. Schtuff happens. Try posting it at the Fiberglassics.com site, too. Might be someone more knowledgeable there...

Re: so sad

talyn, what do you want? Someone to come over to your place and look for you? It seems like you are saying that its sad that noone was able to ID your boat but when they asked you for info you did not give it up. You kinda have to help yourself sometimes. Not always is everything going to be just handed to you. These people are taking the time to try and help you and all you are doing is crying about it. Like i said its not like it's owed to you that these people help you out. They asked you for more info and you didnt give it to them and now you are complaining and saying that people dont know stuff when you are in fact the one who is ignorant. I just dont understand how you can complain about some folks not helping you when its your Ignorance that is preventing you from information that you were asking about. If people are not helping you well enough then dont ask anything. Like i said before, everything in life is not going to always be handed to you. Sometimes you just have to grow up a little and stop crying to other people because of your Ignorance!!

Re: so sad

I'm leaning towards a Viking. Hard to compare it to my 78 model T-Craft, and it seems to me that the hull (even though I know that boat is older than mine), it is a little different then what I have seen for a thundercraft but I could be wrong. The steering wheel could of always been replaced with a thundercraft steering wheel, I happened to use the wheel off of my thundercraft on my bass boat, but it no longer has the decal. Heck it's hard to tell, allot of them hulls looked similar back then.

Even I said something to the affect that allot of those boats looked alike back then, just as Tashasdaddy said. Not only did you not let us know about the hull ID, if it had it or not, you also said that you were going to try and post more pictures which would help out, especially pictures showing the viking decal on the side of the hull. Not only is this a slow time of year for iboats on a number of days, take for instance last night there were only 11 members online at Iboats. If you look at the bottom of the screen you can tell how many people are on here. This can also hurt in getting replies to your thread. Here is the link again for anybody might want to take a stab at it.

Spinner it just makes me mad that he is mad that we didnt help him. Im just saying that here on this forum nothing is "owed" to anyone. The people here are the best! They are taking time that is theirs and helping others. Most of the time they are helping someone that they have never met! I just dont understand how someone can say something like that when people are trying to help him. Thats all i was saying. I didnt mean to be harsh but its just the bottom line. Noone "owes" anyone information or help. They are doing it cause they are good people and thats just it. Sorry if i came off harsh.

Yea I know what you are saying but we do have to watch the harshness every once and a while or it could lead to a street fight if you catch my drift.

Re: so sad

Tayln,

This is just an off the wall guess but it looks similar to a boat I owned back in the early 70's. It was called a Chacci Craft (not sure of spelling) and was made in Florida. It also resembles the early MFG boats.

Re: so sad

i apoligize if i offended anyone. however, i have been doing for myself. i have tried repeatedly to post more photos but, as you can see, no luck. i'm 45 have never owned a boat and i've been unsuccessful at finding info. i'm not downing anyone, i've tried using all of the info provided by you guys & the boat but zip. and in response to your question: yes i'd love for someone to come and help, not do it for me, just to help get info.

Re: so sad

Have you uploaded your pics to Photobucket.com? Then you just copy the image code under the picture and paste it in your post here..very simple once you do it a couple times..;)

Re: so sad

you can up load to a free service like photobucket.com then you choose the pictures you want( clik the little box at the bottom left of the picture) scrool to the bottom of the page, clik generate html, it will take you to the next page, scroll down to thumb nails clik on that and copy, then insert it into your post.

also if you are planing on posting pictures, you can use the Blue post reply or the go advanced, manage attachments, there you can upload , directly from your computer. besure you pictures have been resized to fit the format. 640x480 max.

Re: so sad

my apologies to anyone offended. frustration sets in easily when you don't know where to look, who to ask and, as in my case, how long you have left to work on it. again, if i offended, i'm sorry.
