buy dilapidated old tubs just so you can rent a slip and have a waterfront "condo" with a pool?

Umm, because my wife and I are thinking of buying an old houseboat or cabin cruiser and doing just that :redface:

LOL, it's HER idea. She loves to swim in pools. We've had a pool in the past, never again. I don't swim in public pools(but I'll jump in the Chesapeake)

Anyway, we watched a show about houseboats, and I said, I saw one for like $3K and we could put it in at the Marina 2 miles from our shop and there's your "free" pool.

She bought it

Anyway, I think a cabin cruiser or a houseboat for a few grand that floats, and has a serviceable interior would be cool. We could make sure it runs right down the road, as our Wellcraft is awesome and we love it. I'm a cheap bastard anyway, this would be fun to me!

Winter right? They are far from tubs, but to me it's still a lot of money compared to what I see at marinas and on the water.

I bet I could figure out the 2nd one's issue easily.

There are alot of houseboats that are pretty neat looking and in no way resemble trailers, Wife and I thought about one and use our Bayliner to run around in and have fun and tie it off to the house boat, just thinking about it, But we looked at real nice ones 80', Alot of room! with a top deck that was huge with a hot tub and wet bar. Or go ahead and get a cruiser because we would really love to take trips up and down the lake from Kentucky to Tenn then back up again and hit the town fronts and check out their downtowns.

Down here i pay $1.75 a foot..pay-in-advance, 1 year "contract" how much up there?
Also take into consideration collateral expenses..

Haven't got the rates from this marina yet. I think the next marina over charges $1.50.

Ya would be the way to go, Are there differant places you can cruise to on your lake?? A day away or more?? If so then ya cruiser. We are stearing in that direction too.
