Just wondering what else besides boating keeps you busy? My American Flyer S scale trains layout keeps me busy during the winter, I just started to build a 6x28 foot layout, it's operational but no scenery yet and it looks like a typical 1940's and 50's layout.

Another project that started off a a little photography experiment in a local early cemetery, I ended up photographing and documenting all the Revolutionary War Veterans and Civil War veterans graves here in my hometown, nearly all the Union soldiers nearly 230 soldiers military records were researched. I ended up getting a paid photo site and posted everything I did with records and pictures. There are 300+ photos there. Look for the link in my signature................So what else do you do?

Home renovations for me. All projects come to a grinding halt during the boating season and start again in the fall !!!

Getting our city house ready to be put on the market. Spent this weekend redoing my neighbors picket fence. All 80 feet of it.

Then we move to the lake and remodel the house there. Once done, an HO railroad will be built in an oversized 2 car garage.

I tend to dive into any project which piques my interest. The last 6 months have been the boat, building a screen porch and, more recently, learning video editing (special effects, movie trailers, commercials..). I just love learning and will focus on anything which adds to my knowledge.

RC Planks and Helicopters, although I fly all electrics the winter can play havoc with the Lipos. Gotta remember to keep them in my waist band or inside jacket to keep them warm.

Also I'm a huge aquarium enthusiast. My tanks for both fresh and salt water keep me busy when it's cold out. That's usually when I'll start projdects with them. My goal this year is to make my saltwater take fully automated with water changes and top offs.

Also an avid shooter. I' enjoy target practice(pistol) as well as shooting skeet, and even a good bowling pin match occasionally. Also a certified NRA instructor and I enjoy helping boyscout groups, as well as helping a few buddies teach their CHL classes.

I keep a full schedule all year round.

I have more hobbies than time. I mainly just love working in the garage I have built a few Jeeps and trucks, also one sandrail and three quads. I am the guy who buys the non working ones off craigslist for nothing and fixes them up. I am trying to perfect every aspect of building a car down to the paint and upholstory. I am also redoing my entire home and yard when time permits. All this while starting my own construction company.

Cars! The 'ol TR-3 is half way thru another overhaul, just patiently waiting.

Wifes MG Midget is getting a new head and Weber carb.

Several boats have been in and out the new garage over the past few months as well. Hoping for a little cooler weather to help out a bit...

Just finished a goat pen and new chicken coop...

Well, other than boats, I would have to say I am an avid alcoholic beverage tester. No, actually living in Florida, boating season never ends, but we like going to the beach as well, the best part is you don't have to clean the boat up after that. We also like travelling around the state, a bunch of different places to see. One of my favorite things to do is cooking, believe it or not. I can't cook for myself, too impatient, but I make homemade killer BBQ sauce (a bit spicy) and can do ribs, chicken, steak, all the veggies, and even dessert. That's my defense when I am called "fat, obese, etc." Well you wouldn't trust a skinny cook.

cooking(I'm the primary), shooting/reloading, HiFi home audio (I enjoy a set of speakers reminescent of Woodstock), smoker, laundry (I'm primary), and just tinkering in my man-cave complete with internet, color TV, and swivel-rocker. Other historical time-takers have been woodworking, guitar, Lionel trains, boat-building, and restoration of old outboards.

Re: So what else keeps you busy?

I do volunteer work with seniors through our city.

We have two golden retrievers, so often walking one or the other. I take the oldest, Winnie-the-Pooch, to nursing homes for pet visits.

And we have three grown kids, two with new homes. Often find myself at one home or the other helping with various projects.

Also spend time visiting my elderly mother who is only 8 miles away.

And golf. Haven't played that much this year, but playing tomorrow. A hobby is making custom clubs for friends. I only ask reimbursement for the cost of components; no charge for labor.

I play golf once a week with my dad. I run my kids to their sporting practices/events several times per week. I have a young dog that will be duck hunting for the first time this year that I have been training nearly daily since Thanksgiving. In my spare time, I work on my boats and go fishing.:)

OK I'll Play other than the boats . I play with ornamental iron , I build recumbant bikes and trikes , I have an OLD ford pickup I am restomodding :D. I also have full cable with DVR and a 32" LCD in the garage as well as wireless internet ( thats where I usually am when I am in here :D ) . Then theres home improvements and of course the $50.00 pond project SWMBO started this summer that I have taken to $2000.00 and still not done :D. Then if I get bored theres always the HVAC company that I own and operate with SWMBO :D.

Slot cars. my set up is 4 lane Formula 1 digital. It sits on a platform that 16 feet by 12 feet. I change the layout for the track quite often. I have over 2,000 linear feet to play with. The big advantage with the digital system is that it allows the cars to overtake and switch lanes. The cars can also run in either direction during a "race". Some say the primary fuel source is alcohol..:D

SPARE TIME?????? What's that??? Man, you guys must be old and retired or just lived right early on. :D:D:D Maybe there's an overabundance of lottery winners here on IBOATS.
Raising kids, keeping a job, hanging on Iboats, occasionally tying flies, that's me:)
