Worked Friday. On call Saturday and Sunday, and Monday.

It's supposed to be in the high 50's here through Sunday with the high Monday near 65 so I doubt I will get any no heat calls. If someone calls me and complains about their A/C not working I may have a Clark W Grisswold moment like he did when he didn't get his bonus!

Just kidding if someone elderly or with an infant has a real emergency with either heat or cooling I will go out. Everybody else will wait till Tuesday.
I did turn on the ac yesterday. And unfortunately not talking about my wife... (ann claire everyone calls her ac). House got to 75

Almost did the same here ... just couldn't bring myself to do it, though.

Oh, c'mon, turn it on so you can tick off the people up north who have to crank up their furnaces to maintain 70

We were running the A/C at my mother inlaws yesterday. 17 people crowded around the kitchen island and dinning room table for dinner got a little toasty especially withball the food we fixed.

I've been maintaining her A/C system for 12 years now, been with The Admiral for 9 so you can bet all eyes were on me yesterday to see if things cooled down.

Fortunately it worked.

I actually had a no heat call this morning. Luckily it was a simple fix, ( shorted low voltage wire ) and I was only out for about an hour.

Finally had to kick it on yesterday ... dipping back down into the "no A/C" range again today.

IIRC, this usually spells trouble for us in January and February.

Air conditioning in the winter......i'm jealous! Its supposed to get a degree or two above freezing here in the next couple of days and everyone will remark on the mild weather. Its currently -10C. Don't anyone get Boxing Day off? Up here its a statutary holiday, nearly everyone has Monday and Tuesday off.

If the shops were allowed to be open Chreistmas Day, they would be. I remember not that long ago when Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day were all statutory holidays, and anybody required to work them was on 3x pay... Now, you're lucky if the bosses say 'thanks' for working any of them. My wife was 'requested' to work Boxing Day, but declined (it's our family day). Was then made to feel she wasn't pulling her weigh at work. Almost all the shop in my area are only closed Christmas Day.... It's consumerism gone stupid! All these 'extended shopping hours' are supposed to help shoppers, but if the shopper have to work to cover the longer trading hours, when do THEY shop?

Here's another question for the forum.... Ok, after paying all the monthly bills, I have (let's say) $50 left to spend on me. If the shops are only open for one night of extended hours I have about 4 hours extra per week to spend my $50. When I have 5 extra nights per week to spend my money, guess what, I'm not going to be spending $250.... How is longer hours making more money for the shops if the money people have to spend is a fixed amount?

Chris........
