I was on the way , to the lake. The other day.

I stopped at the tackle shop.

Alot of area residents, loiter around . Drinking coffee , and talking.

One of the older guys. Was talking about going to get his boat fired up .

After it had set out in back of his shed for 3 years.

I recommended , the usual things . I would do , before I FIRED IT UP !

Carbs, waterpump etc. etc.

His reply was spray the carbs out. Not really do a carb rebuild. Just spray carb cleaner in throat.

I didn't want to say anything. And get in a big debate . LOL.

Which is what he lives for.

But, when he said .

I know an old trick , You don't have to rebuild the water pump .

You just do some kind of impellar lube with dish soap ? ?

Have you heard of this ?

I have, lubricated impellar fins, to ease installation.

But not, after installed.

I'm not interested in trying it.

I'll just keep changing mine.

I was just curious, if he's the originator or not. LOL.

KYHunter
