Ive been noticing a soft spot on my 1994 sea ray bow rider around the edge of the ski locker, well after a day of checking and digging I have found that the plywood is completly rotted out for about three inches around the back side of the locker. all of the rest of the deck seems to be in good shape. Is there any way to fix this without having to completly replace the decking? I think this is the last year for me and this boat so my other question is if I do have to replace the all the decking is it worth it for the resale?

Re: soft spot

what size is the boat, and engine, it will probably be an entry level boat for a new boater, or an upgrade for a boater with a smaller wallet. they usually want a boat ready to go, not one to work on. go ahead and fix it correctly. you do not have to replace the total deck. you can use 3/4" plywood scabs under the existing floor, and install a patch, then sand and reglass the area and recarpet (can't believe i said that, i hate carpet) or refinish the deck.
