Hello,
I am rigging up a trickle charge/battery maintainer from four nice size solor panels that I acciquired. Wiring them in parelle I can get 13.2 watts and 8.2 volts. My electric charger on trickle charge mode puts out 2 amps. This panels will put out 1.6 amps. Will this be sufficiant to accompolish what I want to do?

Thanks,
Tom

you need at least 14 volts to charge a 12v battery. Also a diode so that the battery does no back feed the cells when the suns not around.

It would be easier to answer if you stated what you are trying to do. As mentioned, 8.2 volts won't charge a battery. It sounds like you need to hook 2 panels in series for 16.4 volts, hook the other 2 panels in series, and then hook the 2 sets in parallel.
How big is your battery bank? You may need a charge controller.
