> I am looking to buy the two solenoids needed for operating the trim and<br />tilt system of a 1993 Force (Mercury Mariner)(Serial #0E016554)<br />outboard (120 HP). The only way I can currently operate my trim is to go to the<br />engine and manually connect the appropriate wires to raise and lower the<br />engine. I was told I need to get 2 new solenoids and wire them in to be able to trim and tilt from the cocpit. Can you help me locate and buy the solenoids? Thank you. Bill<br />Warren

Re: Solenoids for Trim & Tilt

According to Mercury website, you motor used a wiring harness with 2 plugin type relays, not the older solenoid switches.<br /><br />Go to this site, and entire your serial number, zip code , etc.<br /><br /> http://www.mercurypartsexpress.com/PartsExpress/ProductSelection/ServiceParts/sphome.asp?CID= <br /><br />Then choose tilt and trim from the drop down menu.<br />You will notice that there were 3 different system available for your Bayliner Force, model H120412NX.<br /><br />You will have to look at the parts diagrams to determine which system you have, and which parts are missing.

He will end up spending a chunk on all the parts to do it. You need the power breaker relay, the harness and plugs, and the relays for up and down. I have boxes of them. Where are you located?

Hey WHM. Would you be willing to share some of those relevant parts? I'd be very appreciative!

According to Mercury, the part number for the power trim relays is 803632T. Are the relays all I'll need?

Re: Solenoids for Trim & Tilt

Seems to me that all you would need are the relays and then wire them up to the dash switch. Maybe this system is different than I used to, but if you can go to the motor and jump out the T&T Motor now, all you would need is the relays to separate the up and down power source. Install the relays, run the wires to the switch at the dash and it should work.

don't KNOW" what im talkin about, but i would look for a auto motive relay at a auto parts store, 12 volts make break or what ever shouldn't be all that special, check chryler cars for the same year.

yea one relay is for the tilt, and one for the trim, i imagine the config to be a break make break so as to reverse the polarity on the apropriate motor. just guessing

i'm back, still thinkin, each relay would be a normal open, fix would be common to both, powr suply and the moveable would be the motor, the switch picks the relay and thus the dircection the motor turn. <br /> been fixin relays for telco for 40 years.
