Some 470 Trim and electrical questions.

Well things are developing....

New Ex. Mani / Riser,
4 In HE kit and still not had her out

2K later I might have a sea worthy boat.

Other than that I need a trim gauge and am confused about the wiring.

Can someone explain how the trim gauge sender and limit switch work please ?

Here is my issue.

Trim up - 50 seconds.
Trim down - 35 Seconds.

Is that the norm ? rebuilt rams too.

Where is the shift interupt switch ?

Where is the trim Sender ?

I am getting a hot wire when trimming up from the solenoid on the pump - its the neg wire and is only 8 amp wire - should it not be 30 amp or more ?

I need to re instate the trim sender and limiter electrics as the wiring seems didgy bvut its all different colors than the manual.

Any help greatfully recieved

see the attached pic for the shift bracket and switch. See the two wires follow them to the shift interruptor switch.

DonS just posted a link today I think of the wiring directions of new trim senders and limit switch... If I can find it will post it here....

Thanks Eric,

Mine is older and has a gizmo on the bracket that have 2 wires - grren / black, they both seem to earth and not go anywhere else ? confused. I thought they needed to go into the loom somewhere.

Thanks for the link - sseems my limit switch - port side has no wires explaining at least something. Only Black and red coming through the transom into the engine bay from the sender Is this gonna be a bell housing off job ?

Looks like a job and a half this but needs doing.

Are my trim times normal ?

How long should it take from fulll down to full up and vice versa ?
