Some Bayliner questions

Hello everyone, me again,,,,,the Newbie.
I am in the 1st week of ownership of a '95 Bayliner 2452 Classic. So far I love it, but nothing is perfect, right? So I have a couple of questions, if I may ask:
1- What is that annoying buzzer for that sounds for about 15 secs every time I start my motor? And more importantly, how do I get rid of it? What wire do I disconnect? UGH. I hate it! It has to go.
2- It is a hardtop and only has tiny side windows that open. How do I get more air in there so it will be more pleasant? Roof vent? Replacement windows? I'd really like to improve this, badly!
3- I need to change the prop. Can this be done while it's in the water if I bring it in nice & shallow? Is this do-able? I will be alone doing it

edit: Almost forgot - Can I do the prop at the marina w/out getting yelled at?

Thanks so much for any help.....

Re: Some Bayliner questions

Keep the buzzer. Its there to tell you if the engine is over heating or has no oil pressure. Why do you need a new prop? Yes it can be changed in the water. Just bring the drive up all the way and change it...

Re: Some Bayliner questions

You can cover the buzzer with a bit of tape so it's less piercing but still audible. As mentioned it's not something you want to disconnect.

When you change your prop you should apply some grease to the shaft. If you're getting vibrations from the prop right now you should get it changed right away as those vibrations will be having a negative impact on the drive. It's not a bad idea to also check the prop shaft with a dial gauge to ensure that the shaft hasn't been bent out of spec.

Hey Sarah,
You will find many answers to your questions at the BOC (Bayliner Owners Club formup). Here is the link. However I must say that this Iboat forum has a wealth of information on it and I patronize it's sponsors. :)

so does it have a stainless steel or aluminum prop on it currently? HOPEFULLY it is aluminum. If its stainless steel you probably have a bent shaft also.

Regarding you airflow problem, can you post a pic?

If it's a cuddy cabin, opening the front hatch and the gangway into the cabin really provides a ton of air circulation.

Small 12v fans also do wonders. I have a dash mounted on on our flybridge and for a 8" fan, it's a lifesaver.
