I am working on a 1954 Evinrude Big Twin 25 HP model 25916. It has a electric choke, but the manual choke lever and knob are missing. I have looked, but have been unable to come up with a picture of what that rod looked like. Can anyone tell me if the one in the attached picture is the right one? Please know that the knob on the outside of the engine cover was round, as in the other enclosed picture. Secondly , I am looking for a part # ,or a place to buy the fuel filter for this engine. It is a cylinder shaped one, approx. 3/4" OD x 3/8"ID x 1" H made of stone or ceramic. photo214499.jpg
And lastly , I see that some of these engines had a air silencer in front of the carb, mine does not. Is that something that is missing from mine ? or were they only on the later models? thanks again for all the help so far, If I can figure out this new phone of mine I will post some pics. photo214500.jpg

Choke rod is part number 303735, not even listed any more. Filter is 302062, filter gasket is 302675, choke knob is 302760, knob screw is 302761, all available from a friendly Evinrude dealer. Probably the best place to look for the choke rod is a want ad on the Antique Outboard Club's website (it's free). www.aomci.org

1954 models did not have a silencer, nor is there any room for one.
