-First off, thank you to all that helped me this far with this trim issue, couldn't do it without you guys.
-I have 88 Mercruiser' 30 3.0 with an Alpha 1 drive. Where is my trailer switch located if I even have one.
-Also, from all your help I have determined likely detrimined my problem with not being able to trim up is a faulty limit switch on my port side. How much of a project am I looking at to replace it with a new one.
I'm- me if im wrong, if I do a trailer switch, it should trim up if all thats wrong is a limit I'm?
IOs new to these I/Os shed some light for me, Thanks again in advance

Re: Some more trim questions

You may not have a switch marked trailer. And it all depends on what kind of control or button you may have. There are all kinds. Perhaps a picture of your throttle/shift control, or a discription of your trim button.

Re: Some more trim questions

wow, i dont know what happened to that last paragraph, im really not a first grader. It should have said, correct me if im wrong but if my boat does have the trailer switch, can I raise it from there to show me that the limit switch is faulty.
My throttle control is a morse unit side mount. It has a rocker switch in the arm that controls the trim. I do not have a gauge on the dash or anything like that.
Is the procedure for replacing the limit switch difficult. I would rather replace with a new than just bypass for safety sake. Thanks

How do you normally raise the outdrive when you trailer the boat? Your trim limit switch stops the motor from going up too far where you would be stressing the u-joints while under power. The trailer switch raises the drive all the way up.

Page 13 of the same link tells you how to adjust your limit switch after installation.
