i am going to buy a 15h johnson i am not sure the year its anywhere from 1960 to 69 is there anywhere you all recomend getting parts for those years. thanks a lot and i am replacing all gaskets on my 7.5 hp gamefhisher and i am also replacing the piston rings. are there any suggestions you all should tell me or any other reccomend parts to replace. i was told if i replace the rings i have to replace the rod?? is this true?

I dont see where the rod has a thing to do with the rings. I may be wrong. But, if your changing rings....<br /> Why are you doing this?<br /> I'd have someone , mic the cylinder for you . Just to be sure everything is still in tolerance. <br /> You'll have it apart , why not be sure.<br /> Good-Luck,<br /> KYHunter
