So this my first winter winterizing our boat that my in-laws had given us late in the fall. I did drain the block, manifolds, and the excess water in the outdrive. I put antifreeze in until I could get it to come back out the petcocks on the block and the manifold as well as out the lower unit intake. Turned it over once or twice to make sure it was around the water pump and whatnot. I'm just worried that I missed something and I will have to fix something major before I even get it out on the water this spring.

Welcome aboard !

You should be good to go. To late anyway, enjoy the rest of the winter you'll find out soon enough.

What drive what engine? Power steering cooler drained? Ohio had a tough winter, temps consistantly below zero, I'm a little bit nervous myself.

'86 4.3 OMC with Cobra outdrive. I should be ok, but i really got worried a couple of weeks ago when the RV/marine antifreeze I used to winterize the camper was slushy in the jug. Good thing I didn't use the same in the boat.

i really got worried a couple of weeks ago when the RV/marine antifreeze I used to winterize the camper was slushy in the jug.
i think your ok, assuming the water was gone first, prior to the introduction of the full strength pink rv/marine antifreeze...
i just went and reread my bottle of that stuff. says garenteed not to burst to -50*F. however may turn solid at low temps. but still garenteed not to burst.

i used this rv/marine pink anti freeze last year w/o ramifications. we got down to -10*F or maybe a little cooler here. i think colder last year.
forgot to go look at my jug at -10*F, but looked when it was around 0*F an it was still a liquid. you must a looked at it colder yet. do ya know how cold it was when it was slush? how cold did you get there for the lowest low. out of curiosity....

as everyone says. it's a moot point now. for everyone, includeing me. we either got it right, or we didn't, spring will tell...

I'm not sure how everyone missed what you said in the third line of your original post. But you may have really made a mess of it.

Don - I've been around the board here for a long time.... and I still never know what to expect from you! Must depend upon which side of the bed you get out of in the morning. ;)

CountryCruiser, big thaw out this weekend thanks to high pressure moving in from the south.
Better get out there and have a peek into the bilge and put your mind at ease, you did say the RV was pink right?

That's all I do and it works fine.
I use 50/50 automotive antifreeze, since I'm tired of replacing rusted manifolds.
