Is anybody aware of a site that shows different views of a sonar that tells you what may be wrong with a installation. My new echo map 94sv is not showing very good and I don't know y.I think I got the ducer mounted right.I have a pic of the screen while out on the water.

How does it weird? Saturated? Blobs instead of crisp?

CHRIP? Or non CHIRP?

Auto mode? Go to manual mode and reduce sense to 80%

...a possible cause: Inside transducers should be embedded in a solid puddle of epoxy on a flat surface inside the hull. No bubbles or voids. Gluing a transducer down with silicone won't work well, unless it ends up under water in a very wet bilge.

bare with me ,this is my 1st one.i am trying to learn this stuff and want to know how it works.it is a bunch of multi colored vertical lines very close together across the screen is the only way I can describe it.The downview seems normal to me.

Does this happen at any speed or is it speed dependent? Try turning your noise filter to medium or high, does that change anything?

From a sonar view, select MENU > Sonar Setup > Advanced> Surface Noise. This helped my traditional view but lower model. Can't remember what was on the screen but it didn't look right.

Edit: seen the pic and you could try what I said but pretty sure my noise was coming from the top down as yours appears to be coming from bottom up.

i dont know if this means anything or not but i remember hearing a ticking sound comeing in the sterio speakers with everything turned off except the sounder.I was rather fast paced also. i couldnt imagine what could have been causing that,

The ticking is most likely a grounding issue.

As for your screen, you are over zoomed for one. Turn off zoom and see what happens
