Lake St. Clair on the east side of Michigan. The lake and both rivers to the north and south have almost every kind of freshwater fish you can think of. Salmon, trout, musky, walleye, pike, catfish, drum, sturgeon, perch, gills, crappies, the list is friggin endless....

Best fishing hole in the world. Can't wait to splash the Offshore there.

You guys are not being nice to me at all. I got 4 more days til I head over to Montana after kokanee and trout. They always taste better when you drive a ways to get them. My biggest in this lake was 30 inch rainbow 2 years ago. In Pend orielle right next to me, I caught a 20+ pounder in the 70's. Fishins went downhill since then tho. Too many people dumping their own fish in, and fish and game wants to manage for the resorts and charter boats. Walleye and northern pike are eating too many other fish. A guy I work with's son caught a 38 inch northern a couple weeks ago.

I feel kind of like an amateur amongst pros here. I fish in the Delaware river between Philly and Trenton, mostly for catfish. I've only been boating/fishing for about 4 years now, I've managed to miss the striper seasons in those times due to boat issues and work responsibilities. There's always next year....
Anyway, here's a pic of a pretty good size channel cat caught by a friend of mine in my boat yesterday.....

26" He dropped him back in the river before I had a chance to weigh him.
A couple weeks ago I caught this little bugger....
They are up here, just don't normally see them..

I live in Milwaukee, WI. We fish Lake Michigan for salmon and trout. We troll for them sometimes. But that is very boring. In the late winter and early spring you can cast cranks for browns. Now that is fun. You can also jig for lakers, they hit like a train! Spent 2 weeks this summer up in Eagle River, Wi. In June I got a 40" musky and missed a bigger one. Last August I got a 44. This August we caught many bass. Both smallies and largemouth. The biggest smallie was 21" and the largemouth was 18. We caught them all on senkos pitched under the piers. What a blast.

The fish there must be different than here. In the winter and early spring the lake trout hit like a log. No fight at all. Hard to tell they're even on. Rainbow, especially when trolling, now you got a fighter. Some of the bigger ones especially. Salmon fight a little, except kokanee which have real soft mouths. Set the hook in one of them and they're gone.

Catching these? I've read they move in swarms and at times attack the squid caught in those rigs. Did it spray you with it's jets when you pulled it out of the water? I don't like the taste of cooked squid but I bet I'd have bait for months to catch fish here.

Rheagler. I've caught some big cats in the river. There is always a chance to catching a big sturgeon, they are illegal to catch but when fishing for cats there is always a chance. Atlantic Sturgeon's get massive.

Re: Soooo... Guys? what kinda fishing ya doing and some regional info!

Finally got my fishing trip this year. Unfortunately the Kokanee started spawning 3 to 4 weeks early this year, and about a week before I got there. I still got 35, and a couple rainbow. My wife really outfished me this time tho. She caught 40 and 4 rainbow. Not too good for 3 full days. They were between 10 1/2 and 12 1/2 inch, except 2 small ones, 9 and 8. Considering they were next years spawners, it should be a good year then. Rainbow were sort of small too, 11 1/2 to 14 inch. But better than nothing I guess. It's always windy in that canyon, about 12 to 16 inch chop most of the time on the last 2 days. Makes it sort of hard to control the boat. This is a reservoir I like to go to about 3 hours away in Montana. Ya gotta go aways for a good fishin trip.

DH--

i've only gotten a few humboldts. at one point, found myself in the middle of about an acre of them feeding on the surface.....tentalces flailing above the surface and terrified baitfish. one i was able to get loose at boatside but one had my lure in a death grip so i had to bring him aboard....gaffed him through the tail "fin" and let him dump the ink while pointing away from me. pretty interesting sharing a 12' boat with a 4' squid. gave him to a family fishing in the marina as i had no idea what i'd do with 40# of calamari. lost my camera that trip due to rough seas so no pix but i have one someone else shot of them feeding on surface.

Muskie!!!!!!!!! word of warning dont go muskie fishing it is a very very bad habit. Fish mostly at Alum Creek a local reservoir in central Ohio. The lake is stocked. Caught the 48.5 trolling a crank bait in 40' in early June in my friends non starcraft tinnie.

The military has moved us around so much which has allowed me to do all kind of fishing. The king salmon in Alaska was great, but can't find any pictures of the 40 and 50 pounders..... so, I guess it never happened. ha ha

North Florida was great for speckled trout, flounder, ..... I can't find any pictures of those either... so that never happened!

We're in Texas now and have a few lakes around that offer some good cats, bass, and redfish. Here's a pic:

We are also fortunate to be near Corpus Christi for some salt. Here are few fish porn pics:

Walleye(pickeral in Saskatchewan lol), lake trout and northern pike are what I hunt when I'm on the water. Stuck on shore the rest of the season. Going for some walleye now.
