Ahoy again,
I have an 86 85hp Force. Runs like a dream.....for the most part.
Low idle I have water flow
When I accelerate I Loose water flow.
I changed impleller, both directions for fun.
I changed impeller housing and gaskets.
I ran it with out a thermostat
Still no water flow.

I didnt check up tube, not sure how.

Im thinking head or exhaust gasket?
Am I on the right track to recovery?
Please advise....over

Re: SOS Flag Juliet

How are you determining your water flow? Are you looking at the two "idle relief exhaust" holes on the back below the cowl? If so, what you're seeing is normal. Only time you should see water and exhaust coming out of those two holes is at idle or just slightly above idle. That's because the exhaust snout is down deeper in the water which creates more back pressure. Once you get on plane the lower end should only be submerged to just around the cavitation plate. This relieves the back pressure and water/exhaust exits via the exhaust snout and nothing should be coming out of the two holes.

PnwBoat and FoodFisher,
THANX! for the input. It's a relief Im not cooking the motor. Yes indeed I was looking at the 2 little holes. Tell tale is a good piece of mind.
When I try to get out of the hole, she just says no!
Even when I try excellerating slowly,at the top end she says No!
I back of the throtle and she still runs.
I changed the fuel pump gaskets 1 month ago.
Could it be the fuel connections?
Or I should lay of the fuel additives (wynns, etc I cant remember the etc)
Thoughts and prayers would be appreciated

Additives, don't know. Probably not. Fuel flow, probably. Open vent?, pinched lines?, plugged filters?, clean sparkplugs?, Just says no is pretty vague.

Re: SOS Flag Juliet

Just says no= like an overide (come home) its not hard, kinda like no fuel....uh ha. Time to buy some jubilee clamps, presently there is some tie wraps on some of the lines.
I will refurbish and chase fuel lines. But first, I am posted to Ottawa gotta move in the next couple of weeks, and to boot I have to get a Diskprovocation done. (thats what a carreer of diving will do)
Thanx
Nick
