You can search for DYNAMAT but you will find it to be very pricey. If you have the clearance there is all sorts of sound insulation available but most of it is very very flammable.

Bob

I use dynamat on the doors of my Durango and it works extremely well. I never considered it for a marine application, but now that Bob mentioned it, that would work *very* well.

Re: Sound Deadening

I used this product called hood-liner worked like a magic, available in any auto store. It was designed to attache under the hood of a truck, one mat does the job, just cut it with box knife and install around the engine compartment or cover.

It is a closed cell expanded vinyl-nitrile foam in the form of a mat, one side smooth for applying an adhesive. You can use a spray-on or contact cement. Very durable. Effective to over 225 F.

Aquaplas if you can find it. Used on submarines for sound deadening.

Re: Sound Deadening

Just a thought but why not hit a junk yard and strip the sound deadening material from the inside hood or hoods of full size cars. It should be soundproof and heat resistant too.

The price should be better too.

bob
