I have a 200 Bowrider Chris Craft with the engine hatch that lifts up. Has anyone put sound proof material on the inside of the hatch, if so what did you use and did it make a difference.

IF it is real fuel proof soundeadining material. It will make a difference.

Caution......All bets are off on a DIY of mechanic job. Spray cans of engine liquids may attack & cause the foam to drip ALL OVER the engine. Guy had no problems winterizing. Next spring it was all over the engine & bottom of the hull.........Bad luck.

the best sound proofing is a rubber mat called dyna matt...

i use pool lining.....15 bux a linear foot.

you can also back that up with acoustic suspended ceiling tiles (fiberglass insulation with a plastic coating on one side)

I hate engine sound in my boat.......dont wanna hear it unless WOT

Ayuh,.... I went dumpster divin' for sheets of closed cell plyable shippin' foam....

A couple of layers stapled inside the motorbox, 'n a layer sewn inside the curtains cut the motor noise to almost til....

That was pushin' 15 years ago....
