hey guys, i know everyone goes through this crap, but i just needed to vent...

seems like EVERYTHING is breaking lately... replaced the faulty rectifier on the boat this weekend, but still cant get the tach to work, then now it wont shut off by turning the key off... bank account is empty, dryer is on the fritz (the felt gasket between the drum and frame is torn so it eats everything), tv crapped out this morning and while i was on the phone with my wife talking to her about it and went outside to smoke i noticed i had a flat on my truck and the spare is at home, not to mention the issues we are having with both vehicles... wifes van wont idle right and the steering is making some wierd noises and my truck has a leak in the brakes somewhere that was "fixed" 2 months ago but my resivior was almost empty and the garage wont do anything because im past the 4,000 mile mark... and the icing on the cake is the ongoing saga with my step kids... almost left the other night because of them...

Yep, there's nothing bad in life that can't be made worse with a few drinks. (bin der dun dat)

Sometimes life's a biotch. I've spent 45 years learning to deal with it. If you do deal with it, usually by fixing something wrong in your thinking, it gets better. For instance.

10 years ago, my wife left me, because she couldn't stand me.
I went to work on it, learned there's lots about me not to like, and set about to understand and rectify the situation.
Now I have two problems.
1. I have a job against all odds, cutting in on my fishing time.
2. This same lady that left me whupped me royally in the Father's Day family fishing fray.

Don't get me wrong. I want to help, but the dryer can be fixed for little if you do it yourself. The spare tire on the other side of the county isn't mis-fortune, it's bad planning and/or preparation. Kids or step kids often need to be ignored for sanity's sake. TV broke gives you more time to work on the dryer and brakes. Smoking burns up money that you desperately need.

And typing on this durned computer is cutting into either my working or my fishing time, so I will digress.

sounds like beer is not going to help, need to bring out the wild turkey and a cigar. do you own a gun? firing off a few rounds at the range helps me deal with stress.

We have had a rash of things breaking down lately.
At first, it was depressing since I am between careers right now.
Some things, like the Searay, are just going to have to stay broke for now.
After awhile, the wife and I just have to laugh at the string of malfunctions.

Another way to look at it...
Last year I was at the lake house. My three week stay actually turned into three months as "disaster" after "disaster" had to be dealt with. It was incredibly frustrating.

Looking back though, all of those little disasters (I almost lost the boat in one) kept me there for the one that really needed my attention. Had they not occurred, I would have never seen the flooding in the backside of the house. I would not have seen the damage until a week from now when I get back there.

God had a plan. Those little disasters kept me there long enough to do the damage control and install the prevention measures for the real disaster.

It seems a lot to deal with and it would be cliche' to tell you others have it worse.

I have been and still am in the middle of a rough patch.

I just keep telling myself,

thanks for the support everyone, i know i certainly have it better than some people, and things could be alot worse. just needed to vent.

took me almost 4 hours to get my tire changed... the lug nuts were on so tight that both a 3/4 and 19m sockets on a 3 ft breaker bar were stripping the lugs. drove 40 min round trip to my brother in laws to get the impact gun and it turned out he had it in his truck at work so i had to get one of those sockets you bang on... and even that took 2 of us to break them free. tried to use my roadclub we get with our insurance, they said they couldnt find any providers in the area... then i called the shop that worked on it last month and he said i was S.O.L... but the tire is changed...


tv is still toast though. i think one of the kids hit it with something... the outer glass is cracked.

Your boat starts but won't stop? It doesn't sound like you have any problems at all. If you can get the boat to the ramp, of course. Get on the water, man! If you have to, get on a buddy's boat. Your last resort is to go to the ramp and watch, but that would be good enough. Maybe you could even bum a ride. Hang in there, dude!

Tell us all one thing that is going good and build from there.
