Sour gas? How do I clean and rebuild the carb+new jets for my Force engine

First off my engine is a 96 75hp force three cyl,single carb,cdi engine. Is taking the carb apart easy also what kind of cleaners should I use. The boat had 20 hours of use and sat with old gas in it. I drained the fuel it looked grey brown kinda dirty the original owner did put the fuel cleaner in and stabil fuel conditioner. But I am guessing it was 3 year old gas with high alcohol levels !10-15%. I have purchased a new gasket set,.090 jet,new pin thigy. There is a chip in the skeeg missing meaning the owner hit something could he have bent the prop shaft or prop a little. How can I check this also.

Yes, it is a breaze to remove. Undo the fuel line, a bolt on each side, (you'll have to unbolt the throttle cam plate to get at the starboard one), and it's off.<br /><br />Valvolene "Synpower" "Carb and throttle body cleaner" has a wand on it that werks great.<br /><br />Take a pencil (or stick), and hold it on the side of the foot, and hold so the end is just touching one blade of the prop.<br />Rotate the prop with your free hand, and see how it lines-up with the other blades.<br />Any difference, and it's a bent prop or prop shaft.<br />You might want to check the condition of the lube also,by draining and refilling it.<br />The old lube can tell you just about everything on the condition of the lower unit. <br />Be sure to use new gaskets on the vent/fill screws, and use an impact driver to secure them.

Ok I can get it off any do's and dont's I should be aware of when taking the carb apart. My first car was a rabbit it had fuel injection so I have no experience with carbs. I understand the idle screw should be lightly seated clockwise.
