Anyone have an internet source for gasket material? I'm looking to make some gaskets (powerhead base, exhaust, etc) and I'm having a heck of a time finding a place locally. I've called just about every autoparts store and marina around with no luck.

Thanks TD,

Have you used any of the vegetable fibre material? It sounds like the stuff I'm looking for.

Even WalMart carries it. Can't believe your local auto parts stores don't have it. Farm stores carry it as well.

Get it pretty much anywhere here that deals in anything with a motor on it. (lawnmowers included)

wayne, the last gasket i made was out of an inner tube, for a fuel pump, to test a motor. other than that, it's been 20 years since i made one.

Yeah, the only thing I can get here is cork or 1/64 paper. I can get the proper material at one spot, but only in 4" squares. I'm about 45 mins to New York state. Maybe I'll take a ride down there.
