I am having zero luck finding a place to sell me a replacement peice of glass for my GF's bayliner

the top aluminum frame is bent...while it might be fixable...I would just as soon buy a new one.

I pulled the top bent frame off and all the rubber gaskets from around the rest of the broken window..

I measured the area for the new glass...26.5" X20.5" approximate...I figure someone who sells the glass would know for sure

...it is a 5 peice style walk through windsheild...( only one pane broke!!)

the boat is a bayliner 175

does anyone know of a good source?

i called one place and they wanted me to take pictures of the boat and windsheild and mail them in, and they will send me a quote!!!!!!!!!

seems over kill

the local bayliner dealer isnt open yet!!!

thanks

bob

Pictures always help.

If it's a flat piece of glass you can just go to your local glass shop; just as if you were replacing auto glass.

If it's a custom curved piece, there are sources that will make new for you but expect to pay $3000 or more. Your best bet to replace a curved piece is to buy used. There are a few used boat part dealers you can find using google.

Many people find it less expensive to buy a junker boat on craigslist, use the windshield, and scrap or part out the rest of the boat. You may find several Bayliner models over several years that share the same windshield.

Good luck.

it is just flat tempered glass.

but i would also like to get that top trim peice of aluminum...actually it is the top part of the frame..it unbolts from the rest....

Ill check with a local glass company soon...but I figured a boat glass place would know it and have it...

thanks

Unless you find a donor boat the chances of finding the frame piece are next to ZERO. Fixing the old one is probably your only affordable out.

bob, contact TaylorMade, they probably made your windshield. But be ready, their response will be something like this:

"We don't have the tooling to make your windshield anymore, but we can recreate it. Your windshield will be $5000 to replace."

In other words, avoid them if you can. They are virtually worthless!
