Ugh!

Ugh! Ugh! Ugh!

Just when I was getting excited about Spring, just as the snow FINALLY melted away and the grass was back. Just when the birds started singing in the morning.....

We get dumped on...

I'm not talking about some 4" snow, it started snowing this morning about 10 AM, and it hasn't stopped yet. I have over 12 inches on the ground and it's supposed to last through the night!

We have set records for snowfall this year with this event. It has been the longest, wettest winter I ever in my 45 years remember. We had two thawing events with heavy rain too! Unbelievable.

God, I hope you make up for this with a beauuuutiful Summer, 'cause this Winter has been hell!

Hay man I am with you !! we are sposed to get two to five tonight , I am in mid-mich, and with this snow I think we might break the record { 86 inchs} I am so ready for summer !!!!!! at least spring !!! lol John

Hi ya Michiganders!

Portage, Vicksburg area here. (Gourdneck Lake) I live on the creek and navigate it to get to the aforementioned.

Yeah, I think Grand Rapids is getting a new record too. Not sure yet, will watch the eleven o'clock news to find out.

Just sucks though. I had plans to start on my boat this weekend. The dismantling will begin! (Not now, because of this....)

Sorry, but I'm LMAO at you poor souls up north.
Here in Southern Indiana all we've had is rain lately. Rain,rain,rain,rain,sleet,rain,rain,snow,rain. You get the picture.

Tomorrow morning I'm going to look at the Ohio river at 57 feet. We normally fish it when the level is between 12 and 20 feet. It's quite a sight to see that mass of water flowing by. Trees,50 gallon drums, freezers, houses,well maybe not whole houses but it's sure a sight.

Practically neighbors.

I've been to Evansville once or twice. I hear you on the river story. The St Joe, (which that little creek's water finds it's way to...) crested 10 feet over flood stage this winter when we had a big thaw / rain.

Weird weather this year so far. Last summer here we had an "official" drought. I remember telling the wife "wait 'till it averages out". Sheesh....

Perspective, friends.

37 years and one week ago (3/20/71) my bride and I married in Reed City. The day before was one of the worst blizzards of the season -- my family from out of state almost couldn't get to the wedding because of the foot or two of snow. And the following week was even more snow.

A former co-worker has described Michigans 4 seasons:
1. Winter
2. More Winter
3. Still More Winter
4. Construction

Or as a high school Spanish teacher described it "Nueva mesa invierno y tres mesas infierno." (ok - it's been 40 years, so I might not remember it exactly - 9 months of winter and 3 months of hell)

Not sure how close we are to record here, but it looks like it is finally going to get up this week. I drove by my favorite lake yesterday just to see how the ice melt was doing. Hopefully a few more weeks and then it is boat time.
