SP-A outdrive Fluid Replacement

I have a 1990 Volvo Penta that I bought a couple of months ago.It is an AQ171C with a SP-A outdrive. I want to change the fluid but am not sure what this drive calls for.I have heard some use regular motor oil ? i dont want to risk damage to the drive it smells like gear oil and not engine oil. what weight gear oil if that is what this drive calls for. thanks for the help

Engine oil is what should be in that drive. Straight 30W holds up better than multi grade oils.
