Re: Spare Tire

One on the port side, mounted on the frame. I've got one of those "rolling jacks" that I'm not convinced works... attempt in the driveway didn't work without first pulling it onto blocks of wood to raise it up. Scissors type jack for the car isn't going to cut it

I got tired of lugging the tire around. The regular spare carrier wouldn't work for my pwc trailer. Found 1 spot that it fits with $4 worth of u bolts from Menards. And just for fun I included my cheap setup for a trailer jack and trailer mover. (Cheep because it is storage of other stuff in my garage) If I get around to it tomorrow I will show you the "power trailer mover" I have.
As for my boat, well I just toss the spare in the bed of my truck. I'll get around to buying a spare mount someday.

Re: Spare Tire

I have the same setup as roscoe, only one on the starboard side. And come to think of it, my garage floor looks about the same right now too:rolleyes:

Re: Spare Tire

Just picked up a spare, keep it in truck for now. Need to get a mount next. Bottle jack, four way, and couple of blocks to drive the rim onto to raise the axle up nough to get jack under in back of cab. Didn't have anything till now, a flat sure would fhave turned into a large pain without a spare, never know, see the trailer flat folks all the time on the road.

Exactly what I have for now, had no spare, but decent tires first several times out, never felt good about it. One flat can turn your whole day to crap instead of just a simple tire change. I do need to pick up a mount next.

Re: Spare Tire

I've never considered having two spares but, after thinking about it, doing so makes sense to me

Jim

I have only ever used one of them after the tread started stripping off during a journey but it's sure a comfortable feeling knowing you have another one just in case. I also carry a tire alone as well on longer journeys. Why ??? because I have one and it's no use to me sitting in the garage at home.
