spark arrestor 4.3 omc

i had a belt come loose and it got dust shavings all over in the spark arrestor on top of the carb on an omc 4.3 what is the best way to get those out i tried spraying it with brake cleaner it just wont come out

Try using a hose on blast and blow it from inside and out. That usuallygets rid of most of it. You can also try carb cleaner and then let it dry out.
