Spark coils

I have a 1976 evenrude 25 non-cdi and a 1978 Johnson 25 with cdi ignition. Are the spark coils (coils going to the spark plug) on a cdi ignition system different from those on a non-cdi system?

Different coils. Will not interchange. Wiring connectors are different.. probably so you won’t accidentally exchange them.
