well it sounds like a freaking joke, but the manual says my number 4 cylinder is closest to the flywheel...

i have a aq131a VP with 275 outdrive...

my issue is cant get past 3200 RPM and now its sputtering and spewing gas out the top of the carb when wot... so im guessing the original owner has the wiring wrong...

can anybody tell me if your looking at the volvo from the exhaust side, which is cylinder 1?? thanks

from what i got from the manual is the cylinder from the left to right is 4321, hence the manual says 4 is closest to the flywheel..

Well Brucetafer......that's the way I've always known it to be.......#1 forward away from the flywheel and #4 nearest the flywheel and aft......not sure why you were confused by this but the manual sounds right to me......just sayin'

That's what I was thinking also, but the mechanic that I just spent 125 bucks an hour for, labeled the wires from 1234 from flywheel.. I guess it dosnt matter for spark plugs hence firing order would be the same... Thanks for the input...

Took me awhile after drawing it out that you are right about the firing order. Weird that he would do that though.

its amazing that people love to help on the internet, but when it comes to a shop, there just jerkoffs, no love, just pay em and get out...

thanks guys, found out alot about my mechanical knowledge...
